Dealing with Tough Times

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,

Dealing with tough times:

Life gets so difficult at times and nothing seems to be going well.  We find ourselves feeling sad, and all alone etc. but ALLAH SWT says in Surah Inshirah 94: 5-6: “So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief:  Verily, with every difficulty there is relief”.  He also says in Surat Luqman 31:17 that “…..be patient over what befalls you….”.  We should try by all means to be patient over what befalls us because sometimes ALLAH lets us go through tough times so that we can become better people. 

So we should never ever think that ALLAH has deserted us at all.  He says in Surat Ad-Duhaa 93:3 that: “Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased”.  Let’s hold on tight to the rope of ALLAH regardless of the situations we are in.  We should not let tough times come between us and Our Lord – thinking that we go through the tough times because he is displeased with us, sometimes its not always the case.  He wants us to go through such times, to train us, so that we can appreciate the good times when He brings them.  He continues to say in Surat Ad-Duhaa 93: 5 “And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased”.  So let us bear with patience whatever befalls us bearing in mind that the tough times are not permanent.  Just like seasons, they will come and go.

ALLAH Azza Wa Jal says in Surah Al-Imran 3:186 that “Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and ye shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if ye persevere patiently and guard against evil then that will be a determining factor in all affairs”.

ALLAH Ta’ala continues to say in Surah Al- Baqara 2:155 that “Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere”.  This just shows us that with patience and steadfastness all will be okay.  So let us accept whatever situation we are in and keep our tongues moist with the remembrance of ALLAH SWT as much as we can so that He can make it easy for us.  

He says “Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and reject not faith” Surah Al-Baqara 2:152. Let us have faith that the tough times will be over soon in sha ALLAH!  Let us not despair of the Mercy of our Creator, let us not lose faith, let us continue to do our Salah so that we can bring ourselves closer to Him and tell Him how we feel. He will never forsake us. He says in Surah Al-`Alaq 96:19 …… Bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to God)!   Remember “only in the remembrance of ALLAH do hearts find peace”.
